Maluki Muthusi, a 3rd year student from SCI, has bagged the Huawei Network Cloud Track Award 2019. The awards were presented at the Huawei ICT Competition 2019-2020 Kenya Award Ceremony presided over by Principal Secretary for ICT, Jerome Ochieng at the Radisson Blu Hotel on December 16, 2019.
An interactive session with the first year’s students addressing concerns/experiences they have since joining the school of computing and informatics, University of Nairobi. Also former students (alumni) talking to the students on the opportunities and challegence in the industries.
We build the young women’s confidence and encourage them to continue pursuing science-related careers,says Tabitha a third year computer science student at the School of computing and Informatics.
French-African Cooperation for Engineering in Africa -FACEA project between University of Nairobi and ParisTech/Exploratory mission.
The mission is to develop joint activities such as students exchange at master and PhD level,staff and research mobility and joint academic programs.
Android developers, Juma Allan and Harun Mwangereka who are also part of Android 254 team took the school of computing students through a session on Android basics. They covered a wide range of topics that one must know about Android before learning how to build mobile apps .
The session was really informative and the facilitators also sponsored 5 students to attend the droidconKe conference next year. This is the largest conference in subsaharan Africa that brings together Android developers from all over .

An array of industry gurus speaking to students from the School of Computing and Informatics, School of Mathematics on Users and User Experience and Tools,User Acceptance Testing–UAT, People Management in different cultures: Ethiopia, Zambia, Malawi, Kenya, and Nigeria, Changed markets in Africa, Power of Data, Data Analytics Tools–R and Mode, Use of USSD and WhatsApp and Mobile App Development,
It was an honor to have Students from UoN School of Computing and Informatics invited to the Facebook ID8 event at trademark Hotel on 22nd November 2019. The event was a first of it's kind in Africa that allowed the students to join fellow Facebook developers and partners, and learn how technology can help them embrace the challenges and opportunities you face everyday in your business.
Microsoft student partner clubs are on-campus clubs around the world that seek to empower and help grow the local community through technology. On the afternoon of Wednesday from 2pm to 4 pm, the Microsoft student partners club at the University of Nairobi held an Azure fundamentals workshop.
