Technovataion girls is an international competition for high school girls being run in Kenya by the Safaricom women in tech .It aims at giving high school  girls a platform to showcase their problem-solving skills and to enhance their innovativeness .In teams of about 5,the girls identify a problem in their immediate environment and come up with a mobile-based application that solve  the problem.

Blockchain and other distributed ledger technologies (DLTs), through recent development, have not only enabled simple transactions, but also complex computation on a network where parties are geographically distant or have no particular trust in each other to interact and exchange value and information on a fully distributed basis with fewer to non-existent central intermediaries.

The machine learning with azure event was set to teach our students custom vision .Having introduced our club members to machine learning during the previous meetup, we thought it is important to take a deeper dive. Rosiana, the former MSP at the university, facilitated the meetup.

Maluki Muthusi, a 3rd year student from SCI, has bagged the Huawei Network Cloud Track Award 2019. The awards were presented at the Huawei ICT Competition 2019-2020 Kenya Award Ceremony presided over by Principal Secretary for ICT, Jerome Ochieng at the Radisson Blu Hotel on December 16, 2019.

French-African Cooperation for Engineering in Africa -FACEA project between University of Nairobi and ParisTech/Exploratory mission.

The mission is to develop joint activities such as students exchange at master and PhD level,staff and research mobility and joint academic programs.

Android developers, Juma Allan and Harun Mwangereka who are also part of Android 254 team took the school of computing students through a session on Android basics. They covered a wide range of topics that one must know about Android before learning how to build mobile apps . 

The session was really informative and the facilitators also sponsored 5 students to attend the droidconKe conference next year. This is the largest conference  in subsaharan Africa that brings together Android developers from all over .
