The Mentorship and Career Insights Forum organized by ISACA UON provided practical guidance on transitioning from academic life into the professional world. A key takeaway was that soft skills are just as important as technical skills. While technical knowledge forms the basis of competence, abilities such as communication, teamwork and adaptability are what distinguish individuals in real work environments.

• AWS held a three-day cloud computing training at the University of Nairobi, teaching 125 students foundational cloud skills through its Skills Center Community Classroom program.

• The initiative is part of AWS’s broader push to close the digital skills gap in Africa, with similar programs already running in Cape Town and remote access available continent-wide.

May 22, 2024 saw the launch of the newest student club on campus: The UoN ISACA Student Group.

The event that took place at the Department of Computing and Informatics labs brought together officials of the ISACA Kenya Chapter and students interested in pursuing careers in Information System Audit and Cyber Security.

As we come close to this year's Nairobi Innovation Week 2023, We will launch an Innovation, Incubation and Commercialization Program ( IIC)  as a precursor to  the main event. 

The importance of data science is based on the ability to take existing data that is not necessarily useful on its own and combine it with other data points to generate insights an organization can use to learn more about its customers and audience and use it to make business decisions(read further information on the brochure, we will share more information once you have registered).

This year's Nairobi Innovation Week 2022 will showcase innovations from the students, faculty, start-ups to policymakers, funders, industry, innovation enablers, non-governmental organizations, research institutions, and the general public.
